The White County Transfer Station, located in the Industrial Park south of Cleveland, will be closed on Friday, August 16, to allow for essential maintenance and repairs, according to county officials.
The transfer station was forced to close earlier this week when the scales used to weigh material at the facility stopped operating.
The county reopened the facility on Wednesday, but the scale was still not functioning. Bryce Barrett, White County Public Information Officer, said staff estimated the weights of those using the facility.
Barrett updated Thursday afternoon, “ We plan to resume normal operations on Saturday, August 17.”
Barrett reminded residents that the White County Convenience Center, located on Hulsey Road, will continue normal operations and accept household bagged garbage and recycling.
