Monti Hendrix, who has coached at North Gwinnett Lacrosse Association and Flames Lacrosse in Fayetteville, North Carolina, is joining the Piedmont Women’s Lacrosse program as an assistant coach.
Hendrix was announced as the new assistant coach by Head Coach Brooke Thacker.
“We’re so excited to welcome Monti to our program,” Thacker said. “I believe her experience as a player, coach, and club owner has prepared her well to help continue to grow our program. I can’t wait to see the impact she will have on and off the field.”
Hendrix is a lacrosse instructor and head women’s trainer with Elevate Lacrosse in Suwanee. She previously owned and coached at Axis Lacrosse, also in Suwanee.
From 2022 to 2023, Hendrix was the head coach for the North Gwinnett Lacrosse Association and, in 2020, coached Flames Lacrosse in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Her coaching career began with the Blackhawks in Buford, where she served as a volunteer assistant coach in the summer of 2016. In college, she was a midfielder for Methodist, playing in the same athletic conference as Piedmont.
In her collegiate career, she was a three-year starter and earned USA South Rookie of the Year in 2017. She was a two-time first-team All-Conference selection in 2017 and 2018.
“I am super excited to join Coach Brooke this season to help propel the girls and organization to the next level and hopefully take home a championship win,” Hendrix said. “I look forward to continuing to learn and grow my coaching experience while being a Lion.”
