It is that time of year when pencils are sharpened, notebooks are purchased, and the smell of new sneakers fills your home. School is ready to start. Nothing is more important than children being able to meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and buy their school supplies.
Below is a guide for school openings in the Northeast Georgia area.
Banks County School System
Banks County Primary Schools:
- July 30, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
Banks County Elementary School:
- July 30, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
Banks County Middle School:
- July 29, 4-6 p.m.
Banks County High School:
- July 29, 4-6 p.m.
Habersham County School System
The first day of school for Habersham County Public Schools is Friday, August 2nd.
Habersham County Elementary Schools:
- ALL Elementary Schools July 31, 3-6 p.m.
Habersham County Middle Schools:
- ALL Middle Schools August 1, 3-6 p.m.
Habersham Ninth Grade Academy:
- July 31, 3-6 p.m.
Habersham Central High School:
- 10th Grade: July 30, 6-8 p.m.
- 11th Grade: July 31, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
- 12th Grade: July 30, 9 a.m.-12 p.m
Rabun County Schools
Rabun County Primary School:
- Your child’s teacher will call you to make an appointment
Rabun County Elementary School:
- Grades 3rd – 5th – Your teacher will call you to make an appointment
- Grade 6th ONLY – August 1, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. with a parent meeting at 6 p.m.
Rabun County Middle School:
- August 1, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.
- 7th-grade parent meeting at 6 p.m.
Rabun County High School:
- August 1, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. Schedule pickup in the cafeteria
Stephens County School System
PreK students will start on Thursday, August 1, and will NOT go to school on Friday, August 2.
ALL other students will start on Friday, August 2.
Elementary Schools:
- Big A Elementary School: teachers will contact parents or guardians to schedule appointment times. These calls will begin on Monday, July 29.
The other open houses are by drop-in.
- Elementary Schools and 5th Grade Academy: July 30, 2024, 2-6:30 p.m.
Stephens County Middle School:
- July 31, 2024, 5-7 p.m.
Stephens County High School:
- July 31, 2024, 4-6 p.m.
Stephens County Advancement Academy:
- August 1 from 5-6 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. Parents can choose one session.
- The Stephens Advancement Academy will start on Monday, August 5
White County School System
Elementary Schools:
- PreK and Kindergarten are by appointment only. Teachers will reach out to schedule these appointments.
- ALL Elementary Schools July 31, 4-6 p.m.
White County Middle School:
- Grades 6th – 8th: July 31, 5-7 p.m.
White County High School:
- Grade 9th: July 30, 3-4 p.m.
- Grades 10th – 12th: July 30, 5-7 p.m.
Warrior Academy:
- Grades 6th – 8th: 5-7 p.m.
- Grades 9th – 12th: 1-3 p.m.
