Several “malicious acts” have disrupted rail traffic in France ahead of the high-risk Olympics in Paris, according to the country’s national rail company, SNCF.

AP News reports the fires have heavily disrupted traffic on the day of the high-risk Olympics opening ceremony. Lines in the west, north and east of France were impacted, SNCF announced.

Government officials denounced the attacks as they tried to limit the impact on the rail network ahead of the Olympic opening ceremony in Paris.

It is unclear if the incidents are linked to the Olympic Games, but the country’s rail company has said it is investigating the matter.
