Michael LeFevre, chief of the White County Fire Service Division, will retire on Aug. 23, White County Public Safety said in a news release.
LeFevre has served as fire chief since June 2022 but has been with the White County Fire Service for seven years.
“It takes teamwork to move mountains, and we moved several,” LeFevre said in the release. “I am grateful for the hard work and support of everyone in this fantastic department.”
According to the release, LeFevre’s administration has focused on training and development for firefighters.
“He has been instrumental in enhancing the skills and preparedness of our firefighters, ensuring that they are equipped to handle any challenge that comes their way,” the release said.
White County Public Safety Director David Murphy thanked LeFevre for his service and leadership.
“His commitment to excellence and his collaborative approach has left a lasting impact on our department and community,” Murphy said in the release. “The achievements made under his leadership will benefit White County for years to come.”
The White County Office of Public Safety and the White County Fire Service say they wish LeFevre the best in his retirement.
