The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of a house fire that broke out Sunday afternoon in White County.
Public Safety Director David Murphy says firefighters responded to the blaze at 711 Old HK Wagon Road around 3:30 p.m. on June 2. He says crews saw flames shooting from the left main level and second story of the home when they arrived.
Murphy says the White County Fire Department extinguished the flames quickly with mutual aid from the Cleveland and Lee Arrendale fire departments.
The fire was contained to the laundry area on the main floor and the loft. Smoke damage was reported throughout the house.
Officials say no one was home at the time of the blaze.
