Flowery Branch house fire displaces residents

The American Red Cross is assisting two Flowery Branch residents who were displaced from their home after a fire broke out early Saturday.

Hall County Firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Hunnington Mill Drive at around 9:45 a.m. June 1 to reports of a residential fire. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and a working fire on the backside of the home, says Kimberlie Ledsinger with Hall County Fire Rescue.

Crews began a defensive fire attack on the exterior of the home, knocking down the majority of the flames. The fire spread to the second floor and attic. After the fire was out, firefighters completed a primary search of the home.

Ledsinger says no one was injured.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
