Social Media allegations about Banks Elem. found to be false after investigation, sheriff says

The Banks County Sheriff’s Office was requested on Friday morning to investigate allegations that stemmed from an incident at Banks County Elementary School.

A Social Media post accused Principal Leigh Ann Perry of illegally searching students for permanent markers. Please read Now Habersham’s initial article. 

Banks County Sheriff’s Office reported as the investigation started and continued throughout the day, they did not receive any complaints or reports from parents and/or guardians regarding this allegation.

This afternoon, BCSO released their findings, “After conducting a comprehensive investigation, including multiple interviews and utilizing technological methods, it was determined that the allegations were false.”

Dr. Ann Hopkins, Banks County School Superintendent stated, “We appreciate the Banks County Sheriff’s Office’s responsiveness in conducting this investigation and helping to clear up this matter.”
