H.E.A.T SGT Kris Hall abruptly resigned Monday April 1 from the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office. Few details are known about what led to the resignation.
According to Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore, Hall submitted his voluntary resignation verbally effective Monday, April 1, 2024. He has been employed with the sheriff’s office since Nov. 21, 2016, for a total of 7.35 years of service. Hall served as sergeant over our HEAT (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit.
Moore gave no further information as to the circumstances that may have led to the abrupt resignation.
Hall has been known for his DUI enforcement measures in northeast Georgia for several years, receiving many awards. In 2023, he received two awards from Mothers Against Drunk Drivers (MADD) during a ceremony last May. He received the MADD Georgia Golden Shield 2023 Officer of the Year Honor and the MADD Georgia Golden Shield 2023 Officer DUI Hero Honor for 204 DUI arrests.
Hall made an unsuccessful run for Hall County Sheriff in 2020. He was beaten by incumbent Sheriff Gerald Couch.
According to Hall’s Linkedin page, he has more than 28 years law enforcement experience.
