TFS soccer splits with with Rabun

The Indians earned a 4-1 region win at Rabun County on Thursday in what was a top-10 showdown.

#2-ranked TFS used a pair of Austin Ball goals to skip past the #7-ranked Wildcats. Ball notched two goals, while Landon Hall had a goal and an assist. Kale Borchers had a pair of assists, and Laith Reynolds had a goal while Clay Kafsky had an assist.

“Boys played really well tonight, especially in the first half,” says coach Jeremy Stille. “We took advantage of the large field, moved the ball well, and were able to find spaces in between the Rabun line. Our goals came off patient buildup and incisive passes. Great work by the team and a crucial region win against the other top team in the region.”

The Indians move to 8-1 overall and 5-0 inside region play.

Playing short a few starters, #5-ranked Tallulah Falls dropped a 2-1 road match at Rabun County, suffering their first region defeat.

The loss ended a 4-game win streak for TFS. Jenna Chesser scored the lone goal in the first half off an assist from LB Kafsky. Rabun had taken a 1-0 lead just a few minutes prior.

“We were out multiple starters today and the underclassmen really showed out and let us have a preview of the bright future ahead of us,” adds coach Erin Jimenez.

The girls put 16 shots on goal, and Kyndal Anderson recorded six saves. The Lady Indians are now 5-3 overall and 4-1 in region play.
