Michael Douglas Bennett, age 75, of Mountain City, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 01, 2024.
Born in Cornelia, Georgia, on December 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Clay Doyle Bennett and Bertie Lee Snyder Bennett. Doug served his country proudly in the United States Army and retired from CSX Railroad with over 35 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed building hot rod cars, riding motorcycles, racing cars and was a great dancer. Doug attended The Torch Worship Center. He especially wanted to thank his friends for their love and support during his time of need.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Traci Bennett Batrous and Tony Batrous; Casey Bennett Agnew; son, Michael Dustin Bennett; grandchildren Gracie, Nash, Nate Batrous; Baylee and Aubrey Agnew; great-granddaughter Kinslee Smiley; special friend Angela Luke; and a host of other close friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating.
