The tough non-region schedule prepared Tallulah Falls for its region opener at Rabun County on Thursday. Both the Lady Indians and Indians came away victorious.
The Lady Indians won 5-0, keeping their perfect record intact. The Indians picked up a much-needed 3-2 win while getting all their points at singles.
“What a great day for our program,” says coach Anthony Cox. “The girls were absolutely dominant, and the boys came away with a win against a region foe. The highlight of the night came when Glad [Puscasu], playing singles for the first time, clinched the win for the boys in dramatic fashion in a third-set tiebreak. While everyone looked on and cheered, he stayed composed and gutted out the win. We are really proud of all the players tonight.”
The Indians are now 2-6 overall (1-0 in region), while the Lady Indians are 8-0 (1-0).
