After the announcement, Kerr states, “It’s a testament to how hard people around me have worked to help me get here.”

She adds, “I think it just shows that me, my family, and the community have put so much work into helping me to get to where I want to go. That’s really awesome and amazing of them.”

After being named salutatorian, Chosewood states, “That one took more time since 8th grade grinding away at it. It took a lot of work and a lot of late nights. Also, a lot of family support.”

Chosewood was also selected for the STAR Student Award, which is given to the student who is in the top 10 percent of the graduating class with the highest SAT score in one sitting.

After being named the STAR Student, Chosewood states, “It’s unreal. This is not something I was expecting to have, but it is certainly something I tried for.”
