Marcus Bryson Wilbanks

Marcus Bryson Wilbanks, age 26, of Baldwin, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Mr. Wilbanks was born on October 23, 1997, in Hall County, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandparents, Jean Wilbanks, Harvey and Louise Wilson, Bill and Lavonda Wright; maternal great-grandmother, Jean Allen; great-aunt, Diane Smith; cousin, Nicky Elrod; little brother, Murphy.

Marcus was born and raised in Habersham County, where he touched the lives of countless individuals with his warmth and kindness. Marcus was a proud graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 2016. During his time there, he made a lasting impact as a dedicated member of the Raider Football and Track teams. He will be remembered fondly by his friends, teachers, and coaches alike. Marcus’ love of cars went hand in hand with his management position at the family business of Wilbanks Body Shop in Baldwin. He loved listening to all kinds of music, playing XBOX with friends online, and especially loved his dog, Kylo.

Marcus was a true friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His magnetic personality, infectious laughter, and genuine compassion endeared him to everyone he encountered. He had a remarkable ability to light up any room he entered, effortlessly becoming the life of the party and leaving a lasting impression on all those around him. Marcus leaves behind a vast circle of friends who were like family to him. His beautiful smile and boundless love for others will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of calling him friend.

Survivors include his dad and mom, Kevin and Stacy Wilbanks, of Cornelia; mother and step-father, Adele and Derrick Lewallen, of Gainesville; sisters, Chloe Wilbanks, of Gainesville; Taren (Caleb) Gilliland, of Towns County; brother, Logan (Brianna) Akers, of Baldwin; step-siblings, Maddox Lewallen, Malachi Lewallen; nephews, Carson and Beau Gilliland; nieces, Charli and Marli Akers; grandparents, David and Gail Wilbanks, of Alto; Steve and Denise Sutton, of Demorest; Marianne and Doug Sheppard, of Ohio; grandfather, David Allen, of Gainesville; great-grandfather, Lamar Wilbanks, of Baldwin; aunts, Kimberly (David) Boring; Stephanie (Brian) Walker; cousins, Henry and Piper Boring, Shelby (CJ) Garner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family that he cared for deeply. Marcus had a special bond with his cousins and teammates throughout the years and friends who became family. His circle of brothers and sisters will forever be held close to our hearts

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Pastor Saul McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, at the funeral home.
