Two people were killed and five others injured in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 72 in Elbert County on Monday, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

A 6-year-old boy and a 2-week-old girl in the rear seat of the Silverado were flown to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to GSP. A 4-year-old boy in the Silverado was taken by ambulance to Elbert Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
All of the children in the Silverado are from Elberton.
