CLERMONT – Deputies with the White County and Hall County Sheriff’s Offices arrested the man believed responsible for a gas station robbery Wednesday morning in Hall County.
Hall County Sheriff’s Deputy Nicole Bailes said 26 year old Larry Raquan Thomas, is suspected in the 7:20 a.m. robbery of the Shell station north of Clermont on Cleveland Highway. Bailes said the robbery happened when the suspect wielded a handgun and demanded money from a clerk at the business near Camelback Road.
No one was injured in the robbery. K-9 handlers as well as Hall and White County deputies searched the area of a gas station for a couple of hours. “Thomas faces charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery.
Thomas was transported to White County to be interviewed and faces additional charges through their agency,” Bailes said in an email statement.
Late Wednesday afternoon White County Chief Deputy Bob Ingram said that Thomas was arrested around 11 AM on Chandace Drive at the White Hall County line, just a short distance from where the robbery occurred.
Ingram said they are looking at evidence they believe will connect Thomas to the break-in at the Dollar General store in Cleveland early Wednesday, just prior to the armed robbery as well as another Dollar General break-in at the Hall White County Line. Thomas is currently being held in the White County Detention Center.
