State and local fire investigators are trying to determine what ignited a fire that destroyed a house in Maysville on Sunday.

The fire at 294 Mountain Creek Road also destroyed a shop that was attached to the single-family residence.

Banks County Fire and Emergency Services responded to the call.

“The structure was fully involved with fire upon units’ arrival,” says Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols.

No one was at home at the time of the blaze and there were no reported injuries. The structure was a total loss.

This is the fourth fire in Banks County in five days, and the third residential fire. The Banks County Fire Department and Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
