County and state fire investigators are working to determine what caused a fire that gutted a garage in Lula on Saturday.
The fire broke out around 11:40 a.m. at 948 Silver Shoals Road.
The detached garage was well involved with fire when units from Banks County Fire and Emergency Services arrived.
“The fire was contained to the building of origin and quickly extinguished,” says Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols.
The building sustained heavy damage. Several vehicles were inside the building and sustained light damage, Nichols says.
Residents who live at the property were home when the fire broke out. No injuries were reported.
The Banks County Fire Department and the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office are conducting an investigation into the fire.
This was the third structure fire Banks County firefighters responded to in as many days. A mobile home fire broke out at a residence on Hidden Valley Drive in Alto on Thursday, Nov. 2. On Friday, Nov. 3, a chicken house caught fire, threatening 20,000 baby chicks.
