A Clarkesville man was charged after a stolen vehicle was recovered outside the Habersham County Administration Building on Wednesday.
Zachary Taylor Bartholf, 27, is charged with theft by receiving stolen property after the 2004 Ford Expedition for which he was trying to purchase a tag was confirmed to be stolen.
Bartholf told deputies he purchased the vehicle from a woman in the Fairview area for $2,300 cash but provided no proof.
The vehicle was taken from the parking lot of the old Kimbrell’s Store between 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27. It had been parked there after experiencing a mechanical issue.
Bartholf was released from the Habersham County Detention Center on Friday, Nov. 3, on a $5,600 bond.
