Gainesville man charged in multiple entering auto cases

Joseph Morone (Hall County Sheriff's Office)

A Gainesville man remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond following his recent arrest on a series of entering auto cases across North Hall County.

Joseph Phillip Morone, 27, was arrested Friday, October 20, on a warrant for entering a vehicle on Tradition Drive. Since Friday, property crimes investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) have charged Morone with four additional entering auto cases. Those crimes occurred at residences on Mill Creek Road, Elrod Road (two incidents), and Esteva Place.

More charges are pending for Morone as the investigation continues.

If any citizens in the area where these crimes have occurred recognize Morone or have security camera footage of vehicle break-ins between the dates of Oct. 18 – Oct. 20, please contact Investigator Vaughan at [email protected].

As entering auto crimes increase across Hall County, HCSO investigators remind citizens to keep their vehicles locked; every vehicle in these cases was unlocked. In addition, citizens should remove valuables from their vehicles or keep them out of sight.
