One lucky winner will lay claim to the $1.76 billion Powerball jackpot. The winning ticket was sold in California.

The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s drawing were 22, 24, 40, 52, 64 and red Powerball 10. The Power Play multiplier was 2X.

This is the first time someone has won the Powerball jackpot since July 19. It’s the fourth time since last November that a billion-dollar winning ticket has been sold in California.

According to the California Lottery, the winning ticket was sold at Midway Market & Liquor in Frazier Park, The Associated Press reported.

Final ticket sales pushed the jackpot beyond its advertised estimate to $1.765 billion at the time of the drawing. The prize ranks as the second-largest Powerball jackpot and U.S. lottery jackpot ever won, only behind the world record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California on Nov. 7, 2022.

Wednesday’s winning ticket has a cash value amount of approximately $756.6 million before taxes, lottery officials said.

Solo tickets in Arizona and Pennsylvania matched all five numbers on Wednesday and were worth $2 million because the ticketholders played the Power Play option.

Tickets worth $1 million — a player matching five numbers — were won in five states. There were two winners each in California and Florida and solo winners in New York, Oklahoma, and Virginia, lottery officials said.

The jackpot resets to $20 million, with the next drawing on Saturday.
