A wreck Wednesday night at the intersection of GA 365 and Mt. Zion Road in Alto sent one person to the hospital.

The Georgia State Patrol says 22-year-old Seth Coker of Alto was injured in the wreck shortly before 8 p.m. on October 4.

Troopers say 59-year-old Charles Perry of Alto was driving a Ford F250 and failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Perry traveled into the northbound lanes, striking the Toyota Tacoma Coker was driving.

Troopers say this Ford F250 ran into the Tacoma at the same crossover where 5 people died in a fiery crash in July. (Habersham County Sheriff’s Office)

The impact caused the Tacoma to land on its side.

According to the GSP crash report, the wreck did not injure Perry. Habersham EMS transported Coker to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with suspected serious injuries.

Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa investigated the wreck. The investigating trooper charged Perry with failure to yield while turning left.

The crash happened at the same intersection where 5 people died in a fiery crash in July and where two others died in October 2021.
