The Piedmont University men’s soccer team dominated MUW, downing the Owls 6-3 following a major first half offensive. The Lions once again boasted a multitude of goal scorers in the contest as the offense continued to click.

Davis Knight picked up right where he left off in game one, opening the scoring in the 9th minute off an assist from ANDRE GRANT. Knight continued to steamroll forward as he scored once again just over four minutes later. This time, Colin Vogel was responsible for the assist on the opportunity.

The Lions were far from finished, as freshman Nathan Jacome scored his first career collegiate goal in the 16th minute. Though he was denied on his first shot, Jacome regathered himself and the ball and put away the second chance opportunity.

Tanner Beam joined the first-time action in the 21st minute, putting away his first career collegiate goal off a double assist from Vogel and Grant. Grant swung in a right-footed cross from just inside the 18, which Vogel chipped directly to Beam, who finished the opportunity into the bottom right corner.

Shortly after being subbed on, sophomore Cristi Pascuru found himself with a free kick opportunity from 20 yards out. Calm and collected, Pascuru curled the left-footed shot into the top corner for the fifth goal of the game for the Lions in the 41st minute.

Out of half, MUW scored their first goal of the game, but senior Brady Puckett responded with his first career goal to make it 6-1 Lions.

MUW found two more before the contest concluded, but Piedmont finished with a 6-3 win.

Up next, Piedmont welcomes a tough Berry squad to Demorest. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6.
