The Military, Firefighter, and Cops (MFC) Motorcycle Club’s Smoky Mountain and Atlanta East Chapters are hosting the 6th Annual Charity Fundraiser and Mountain Ride at the Ridges Resort in Young Harris on September 16.
This year’s beneficiaries will be Deputy Patrick Neil Holzclaw of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Operation Rally Point in Monroe, Georgia. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go directly to these beneficiaries, a news release issued on behalf of the group states.
Deputy Holzclaw lost his wife and two children in a wreck on July 16 on Highway 365 at Mount Zion Road in Habersham County.
Operation Rally Point is a veteran-led nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to triage veterans in crisis and provide immediate access to lodging and other services.
Last year, the Smoky Mountain Chapter raised more than $30,000 in monetary contributions, food, and household products to support veterans, first responders, and their families.
Benefit ride
The Ridges Resort, situated on Lake Chatuge, provides a location surrounded by curvy roads with the scenic North Georgia mountains providing the backdrop.
There will also be food, fun, music, vendors, and a charity auction.
“This charity ride is not just for motorcycles. Organizers welcome all vehicles,” the release states.
Non-riders are invited to come and support the cause and enjoy the family-friendly activities.
The event will be held rain or shine.

Same-day registration will begin at 9 a.m. on September 16, with kickstands up at 10:30 a.m. Festivities will last all day.
