Virgie Morris Stephenson, age 70, of Alto, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.
She was born February 11, 1945 in Augusta, GA to the late Virgil and Louise T. Cranfill Morris. Mrs. Stephenson worked in the Quality Assurance Department at Dittler Brothers Printing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Angel, Percilla Adams, and Myrna Morris.
Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Emmett D. Stephenson; daughter, Tamie Renee Hoopii Stephenson of Cornelia; sons, Virgil Duane Stephenson of Gainesville, and David Baggs Stephenson of Murrayville; brother, William C. Morris of Colorado; and eight grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel in Demorest with Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM, Friday, August 21, 2015 at the funeral home.
