Suspect accused of two armed robberies at same store three days apart

Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) investigators arrested a Gainesville man on Monday morning, August 21, in connection with two recent armed robberies at the same East Hall County convenience store.

HCSO investigators located Tyler Douglas Crumley, 19, at approximately 10:45 a.m., roughly 90 minutes after the latest robbery at the Express Food Mart Exxon station at 2808 Ga. 323/Gillsville Highway.

Crumley was inside a pickup truck in the Walgreen’s parking lot on South Enota Drive Northeast in Gainesville. He was arrested without incident, a sheriff’s office spokesperson says.

According to the preliminary investigation, Crumley robbed the store clerk at knifepoint at approximately 9:20 a.m. Monday and left with an undisclosed amount of cash. He is also charged with robbing a clerk at the same store at knifepoint at approximately 8:10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19.

No one was injured in either robbery.

Investigators recovered the weapon and a quantity of cash when Crumley was arrested.

Investigators obtained arrest warrants charging Crumley with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of aggravated assault, all felonies. He is being held in the Hall County Jail without bond. HCSO is continuing to investigate the crimes.
