Robert Lewis Taylor, age 77, of Cornelia, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 10, 2023.
Mr. Taylor was born on February 6, 1946, in Habersham County, Georgia, to the late Lewis and Margaret Gunn Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Stevens.
Mr. Taylor was a very patriotic man, having proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Robert will be remembered as a faithful Christian man who was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather and was a great friend to many. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren, who all called him “Papa.”
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Brenda Taylor, of Cornelia; sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney Lewis Taylor and Lisa, of Alto; Christopher Lee Taylor and Susan, of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Lauren Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Jackson Taylor, and Lincoln Taylor. siblings, Billy Taylor, of Demorest; Charles Taylor, of Demorest; Evelyn Arrendale, of Cornelia; Doris Vincoli, of Lithia Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. Interment will follow in the Demorest City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023, at the funeral home prior to the service.
