A Hartwell woman was struck and killed while walking along a Northeast Georgia highway early Tuesday. State troopers say Shiree Ann Lee, 58, died after an SUV hit her on GA 8 near Seed Cleaner Road in Hart County.
Troopers from Post 52 in Hartwell responded to the scene around 7:21 a.m. on August 1. They say a 2018 Jeep Cherokee was traveling east on GA 8 and struck Lee as she was walking in the eastbound lane.
Lee died at the scene.
The Jeep, driven by 32-year-old Debrina Lynreka Brewer of Hartwell, was carrying an adult passenger and three juveniles.
The state patrol says no charges are expected to be filed at this time.
