Wynona Ann Holladay, age 85, of Gainesville, entered heaven Saturday, July 29, 2023, at her daughter’s residence with her family by her side.
Ann was born December 21, 1937, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to the late Mable Heltzel Simmons & Elmo A. Simmons. She did many things in her career. She retired from Peachtree Doors, then did some home health care before becoming a homemaker. Ann was an amazing woman with a contagious personality and was loved by all who knew her. She loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed. She was a member of New Haven Church in Gainesville. Ann was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Waters; brothers, Ancil Simmons, Norbert Simmons, Dwain Simmons, Lloyd Simmons & Kelly Simmons.
Left to cherish precious memories, daughters Renita (Ricky) Thompson & Rhonda (Dwight) Wood; sons Kevin Lee Holladay & Keith Edward Holladay; sister Clarine Simmons; brother Gary Simmons; 4 grandchildren also survive, as well as a number of nieces, nephews & other relatives.
Services honoring Ann’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at the Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Thompson & Rev. Bobby Griffin officiating. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery. Gentlemen honored to be pallbearers are Cody Thompson, Nick Mangino, Alex Holladay, Tony Sanders, David Holladay & Brian Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening, August 1, 2023, at the funeral home.
