Wreck temporarily stalls traffic on GA 365 in Baldwin

A wreck Thursday afternoon on GA 365 in Baldwin tied up traffic but did not result in any serious injuries, according to officials.

According to the Georgia State Patrol report, Jason Pirkle, 50, of Flowery Branch, was driving a Ford Escape southbound. Troopers say he was following too closely and struck a Ford Edge at the interesection with Duncan Bridge Road/GA 384. 

Pirkle sustained possible minor injuries, but he was not transported to the hospital. Troopers say the driver of the Edge, Paula Huggins, 60, of Alto, was not injured.

Pirkle was charged with following too closely.

The wreck shut down the southbound lanes of the highway for approximately 45 minutes as troopers investigated the crash and crews cleared the scene.
