It’s being billed as “the biggest fireworks show in Clarkesville,” and it’s happening this weekend. Red, White, and Tunes returns to Pitts Park on Saturday, July 15. The park opens at 4 p.m. for this free community event.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy live music, food trucks, face painting, bounce houses, and fireworks.

“We’ve got four or five food vendors, three or four dessert vendors, funnel cakes, and bakeries, Kona Ice, of course,” says Clarkesville Main Street Director Colby Moore. “We’ve got local restaurants serving beer and wine. We’ve got Currahee Brewing from Rabun County doing beer. Many more vendors than we did last year.”

These additional vendors should help avoid the long lines that people experienced at last year’s event, explains Moore.

At 6 p.m., the Steve Bryson Band is scheduled to take the stage at Pitts Park to perform.

“He does such a great job for us. (He) puts on such a patriotic show. We appreciate it.” Moore states.

When the Steve Bryson Band concludes their performance at around dark, there will be a fireworks display that will last about 10 minutes.

The city will offer a shuttle service from downtown parking areas to Pitts Park. The park is located off Highway 197 North in Clarkesville.
