An Alto man was taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries after a rollover wreck Sunday afternoon in Cornelia.

Shortly after 3 p.m., a trooper from Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa was dispatched to the scene on Highway 441 at Chase Road.

According to the preliminary accident report, 21-year-old Barry Hulsey of Lula was driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer south on US-441. He failed to yield while turning left and struck the driver’s side of a northbound Ram 1500 pickup truck.

The impact caused the truck to rotate and roll. It overturned onto its passenger side across both northbound lanes.

The wreck injured the pickup truck driver, 47-year-old Eduardo Camacho. Habersham EMS transported him to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.

Hulsey sustained possibly minor injuries but was not transported, the state patrol says. The investigating trooper charged Hulsey with failure to yield while turning left.
