Martha Lovell Franklin

Martha Louise Lovell Franklin, aged 78, of Clarkesville, went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2023, after an extended battle with breast cancer.

Born in Habersham County on November 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Isaac & Mervin Jenkins Lovell. Mrs. Franklin graduated from North Habersham High School in 1962. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Clarkesville. She was a former secretary at Riegel Textile, owned and operated a poultry and cattle farm with her husband until his passing, and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Roy Eugene Franklin; her sister, Mildred Lovell Irvin; her sister and brother-in-law, Diane & Bobby Hall; her sister-in-law, Joy Lovell of Clarkesville; her brothers-in-law, Dayton Wiley & Ancel Roach.

Mrs. Franklin is survived by her two daughters & sons-in-law, Tina & Don Black of Cleveland; Gina & Jason Brown of Peabody, Mass; grandchildren, Ethan Black of Smyrna, Caroline & Rily Passini of Cleveland and a great-grandson on the way; Seth Brown of Peabody, Massachusetts; sisters Linda Roach of Clarkesville; Bertha Wiley of Cornelia; brother, Henry Lovell of Clarkesville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Yvonne & Raymond Rudeseal of Mt. Airy; Melanie & Keith Franklin of Powder Springs; numerous nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to Jeffrey and Dylan Franklin for keeping the farm operational and to Gentiva Hospice for their excellent care and support.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2023, at the Victory Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Darryl Lovell officiating.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Memorial Chapel, Clarkesville, on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 6-8 pm.
