Former Habersham Central High Raider Tavarres King did not make the cut. His name will remain on the ballot for next year. Other area nominees on this year’s ballot included Jim Bob Harris (Clarke Central, 1977), Everett Strupper (Riverside Military, 1913), and Runt Moon (Commerce, 1973).

This was the first year on the ballot for Ken Swilling and Lothridge and Pat Swilling’s second. Out of the players inducted, 29 were on the inaugural ballot in 2022, while 11 were first-time nominees.

The Class of 2023 will be inducted in a ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.
