Hall County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Gainesville man this week in connection with several entering auto cases in the neighborhood where he lives.
While investigating two entering autos at the same residence in the 3300 block of Antioch Lane on Monday morning, June 5, deputies identified Joseph Phillip Morone, 26, as a suspect. They arrested him without incident later Monday morning at his residence in the 1100 block of Antioch Campground Road, a news release from the sheriff’s office says.
According to the initial investigation, Morone allegedly committed an additional three entering autos in the neighborhood between June 1 and 5. He’s accused of entering SUVs on Farmhouse Road, Antioch Lane, and Antioch Campground Road.
According to investigators, Morone took cash and gift cards during the crimes with an estimated total value of more than $300.
Deputies charged Morone with a total of five felony counts of entering auto. He remained in the Hall County Jail on a $28,500 bond on Tuesday afternoon, June 6.
