Winners of the 12th Annual VFL Rubber Duck Race recently gathered at Pitts Park in Clarkesville to receive their prizes.
Volunteers for Literacy of Habersham County Board President Dr. Don Gnecco presented checks to 1st place winner Helen Barrett ($1,000), 2nd place winner Chris Metrick ($500), and 3rd place winner Linda Morris ($250).
“Congratulations to these winners, and a huge thank you to all who supported literacy in Habersham County by adopting ducks to race for them,” says VFL Executive Director Phylecia Wilson.
The VFL Duck Race is run annually during the Mountain Laurel Festival in Clarkesville. Since it began in 2011, the race has raised more than one-hundred-thousand dollars to support literacy programs in Habersham County.
