Sponsors let their imaginations run wild during the Volunteers for Literacy of Habersham County Dec-A-Duck contest. The contest runs in conjunction with the nonprofit’s annual rubber duck race on the Soque River.
This year, nearly 50 businesses, groups, and individuals contributed at the sponsorship level to get their Dec-A-Duck masterpieces into the contest.
Winners were selected in eight different categories. Public voting was held online and in person at various outlets throughout Habersham in the weeks leading up to the duck race. Last-minute votes were also cast and counted on the day of the race, held annually during Clarkesville’s Mountain Laurel Festival.
So now that all the votes have been counted, here’s a list of this year’s winners, along with a slideshow of all the fantastic entries.
