Rev. Doris Patrick Manning, age 79, of Demorest, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 21, 2023.
Rev. Manning was born on July 4, 1943, in Gwinnett County, Georgia, to the late Carl and Nellie Payne Patrick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, whom she loved dearly, Clarence Albert Manning; infant son, Boy Manning; sisters, Rev. Olivia Patrick Christopherson. Betty Grant, Mildred Woodall; brothers Homer Patrick, Ruben Patrick, and Jackie Patrick.
Rev. Manning was a Minister of the Gospel for over 50 years. Her work in ministry included Tent Revivals, Evangelizing, and serving as Pastor of Bread of Life in Anderson, South Carolina, and Living Faith Sanctuary in Demorest, Georgia. In addition to her work in ministry, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, always praying for her family. Doris was known as “Grandma” to her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Tina King, of Demorest; Lisa Johnson, of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Jim Frederick, of Mt. Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Linzy and Shirley Manning, of Demorest; brother, Rev. Morris Patrick, of Cornelia; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one great-grandchild on the way, and one great-great-grandchild on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the Living Faith Sanctuary with Rev. Nelson Hewell and Rev. Morris Patrick officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
