The new Demorest City Hall in the old Demorest Elementary School has been open for over a month. The city will finally celebrate its new offices during a grand opening on Monday, April 24. The public celebration will run from 5 to 7 p.m. and will include tours of the renovated facility.
A ribbon cutting will take place at 6 p.m. at City Hall, located at 250 Alabama Street.
Monday’s celebration kicks off Demorest’s observance of Georgia Cities Week. Students at Wilbanks Middle and Demorest Elementary schools will participate with essay and art projects.
Other events are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, April 25: Futures Day will be held at Mountain Education Charter School from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Thursday, April 27: Demorest will host “Touch A Truck” at Demorest City Park from 4 to 6 p.m.
Saturday, April 29: Demorest will host the Demorest/Mt. Airy Highway Spring Clean with the HCHS Boys Varsity Soccer Team and HOPE Club from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
