Late comeback attempt falls just short for Lady Indians

The Lady Indians fell in a valiant effort on Friday night at Rabun County, losing 72-62.

Despite TFS trailing 52-29 at the half, the girls stormed back with a 16-6 third quarter. They outscored Rabun 17-14 in the fourth also to make it a 10-point game.

Denika Lightbourne had a stellar outing with 38 points as part of a double-double. Breelyn Wood also had a double-double with 12 points. Tanisha Seymour had 8 points and Haygen James 4.

The Lady Indians are now 8-14 overall and 4-4 in region play.

The JV girls fell in a tight 48-45 game, and much like the varsity, stormed back late. The Lady Indians were down 25-18 at the half before taking a lead with a 15-5 third quarter. Rabun County countered with a big fourth to seal the win.

Lana Malbaski had a team-high 18 points, while Adrijana Albijanic also scored in double figures with 10. Kovanne Strachen added 6 points, Millie Holcomb 5, and 2 apiece for Ashlyn Cleveland, Pola Pilicka, and Lupita Carillo. The JV girls finish their season with a 2-6 record.
