Bruce Thomas Irvin, age 70, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023.
Mr. Irvin was born on March 17, 1951, in Stephens County, Georgia, to the late Tommie Buchannon and Alice Andrews Irvin.
Bruce was a graduate of South Habersham High School and a graduate of Piedmont College. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation in 2001. Following his retirement, he served at Piedmont College in numerous capacities until 2020. Bruce will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. He was known to his grandchildren as “Papa B” and devoted his time to his family.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kale and Jessie Irvin, of Demorest; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and BJ Addison, of Cornelia; grandchildren, Samuel Tolbert, Caroline Addison, Annaleigh Irvin, Elizabeth Addison, Max Irvin, and Caius Irvin; sister, Yvonne Irvin, of Baldwin; brother, Bobby Irvin, of Baldwin; brother and sister-in-law, Danny and Carol Irvin, of Homer.
A visitation to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 7, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A Private Family Service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baldwin Elementary PTO and Level Grove Elementary PTO to assist students in need.
