Denika Lightbourne tied the single-game scoring record with a 40-point performance in a 64-39 win at Commerce Tuesday evening.
The home team took an early 18-11 lead going into the second, but the Lady Indians surged back to go up 26-25 at the half. TFS pulled away a bit in the third, and went up 9 points as the fourth quarter started. From there, Tallulah Falls outscored the Lady Tigers 20-4 to secure the win.
Lightbourne had 40 points, while Molly Mitchell added 9. Haygen James had 7 points, Tanisha Seymour 6, and Breelyn Wood 2 in the win.
TFS is now 7-13 overall and 3-3 in region play.
The JV Lady Indians also took on Commerce and dropped a 47-43 thriller. Lana Malbaski led the offense with 19 points, and Adrijana Albanijanic chipped in with 10. Kovanne Strachan had 9, Lupita Carrillo 3, and Emily Cai 2 in the loss. The JV girls move to 1-5 overall.
