Demorest is looking for a new city manager. The job listing was recently posted. The position became vacant when former city manager Kim Simonds resigned in December.
According to the latest Census, Demorest has a population of around 2,200 residents. The city has 37 full-time employees. The Demorest City Council is looking for someone to manage the day-to-day operations of the city and its $9.2 million annual budget.
Applicants should have at least five years of experience in local government and a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in political science, business administration, public
administration, or any other related field. A Master’s Degree (MPA /MBA) is a plus, the job listing states.
