White County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) invites the community to attend their basic training course beginning Monday, January 30, 2023. The White County CERT Team is a community of volunteers who train, educate and develop skills necessary to assist their community and first responders in the event of an emergency.

Throughout the basic training, members will get an introduction to search and rescue, fire suppression, basic first aid/triage, and disaster preparedness. After basic training, many members continue to specialize in teams such as rehab, search and rescue, chainsaw/debris, shelter, and communications.

“CERT is an amazing opportunity of learning and fellowship,” says White County Public Safety Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett. “We look forward to meeting our neighbors!”

Classes begin on January 30 and will continue every Monday from 6-9 p.m. through April 10. Classes will be held at the White County Board of Commissioners Building at 1235 Helen Highway, Cleveland, Georgia, 30528.

Class sizes are limited. To register, email [email protected] or call 706-865-9500. Please provide your name, email address, and phone number so you can be contacted before the first class.
