Clarkesville man arrested for series of break-ins at Hall County storage facility

A suspect wanted in a series of burglaries on May 12 at Happy Pappy’s Storage in Gainesville has been arrested.

Warrants were issued for Jeremy Alan Martyne, 35, of Clarkesville, following an investigation into break-ins at 11 units at the storage business on Thompson Bridge Road. Hall County sheriff’s investigators said they found evidence Martyne stole a variety of items in the crimes, including a 2004 Ford Expedition, a trailer, two personal watercraft, tools, and other miscellaneous items.

During the course of the investigation, many of the stolen items were found and returned to their rightful owners, officials say.

As investigators worked on the case, Martyne apparently left the area and traveled to Florida. He was arrested on Tuesday, December 20, when he returned to North Georgia.

Deputies booked Martyne into the Hall County Jail on 11 counts of second-degree burglary and theft by taking a motor vehicle.

As of Wednesday afternoon, December 21, Martyne remained in jail on a $5,700 bond.
