Firefighters take a turn as Santa’s elves to brighten kids’ Christmas in Cleveland

Some White County firefighters traded in their helmets for Santa hats Thursday as they delivered gifts to dozens of children.

On December 15, firefighters from Station 3 and Station 6 assisted Toys for Tots in distributing Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community.

 

The toy distribution took place at The Bridge Church in Cleveland. Forty-four children received Christmas presents through the Toys for Tots campaign, says White County Public Safety spokesperson Bryce Barrett.

Firefighters assisted in locating and loading the toys into vehicles for the families. Many kids also got to tour the firetruck and see the tools used in firefighting.

The local Toys for Tots annual toy drive serves White, Stephens, and Habersham counties. All of the toys donated were received through one of the 120 drop boxes placed in stores throughout the area.
