Weekend wreck in Baldwin injures four

A late afternoon wreck Sunday in Alto sent four people to the hospital with possible minor injuries, state troopers say.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of GA 365 and GA 384/Duncan Bridge Road in Baldwin.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, Kristina Brubaker, 45, of Gretna, Louisiana, was driving a Toyota Corolla south on GA 365. She attempted to turn left onto Duncan Bridge Road and pulled into the path of a northbound Chevrolet Malibu driven by Marguarite Gerrin, 67, of Cornelia.

The Malibu struck the Corolla, injuring both drivers and two passengers in the Malibu. The injured passengers are identified as James Gerrin, 75, of Cornelia, and Elizabeth Hibbs, 32, of Toccoa. A third passenger in the Malibu, Christopher Hardman, 30, of Martin, was not injured.

Habersham County EMS transported the injured patients to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment.

Troopers cited Brubaker for failure to yield while turning left.
