It was perhaps the quickest tri-match of the season for the Lady Indians, who ran their win streak up to four matches with 2-0 blankings of both Athens Christian and Elbert County. TFS, which came in ranked fourth in the state, cruised past both teams.
“Not too many highlights except that everyone got a good amount of playing time,” says coach Matt Heyl. “Kitty [Rodenas] did serve 11 straight points against Elbert, so that was fun. But the team highlight for me was that we were in better position when our hitters were hitting.”
It was a 25-12 and 25-16 win in straight sets over Athens Christian, and a 25-4, 25-13 win over Elbert County. It marked the second win over Elbert this season for TFS.
The wins bring the Lady Indians to 10-3 on the season and now 5-1 in region play. Next up is a home match on Tuesday, September 6 against Rabun County.

JV Lady Indians
The JV team was dominant as well on Thursday, beating first Athens Christian 25-7 and then 25-14. Elbert County provided a little more resilience, but TFS once again swept with a 25-12, 25-17 victory to claim the match.
“Julia Smith hustled and went after every ball that came near her,” exclaims coach Tykia Thompson. “Katerina Foskey had some really good spikes that made it difficult for the other team to return the ball.”
For the JV Lady Indians, the wins advance their record to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in region play, continuing their impressive streak of solid play.
