I read the verse, “Jeremiah 32:27, ‘I am the Lord, the God of mankind. Is anything too hard for me?'”
The words were written on a torn scrap of paper in the South Parking Terminal Level 3. I was waiting to pay my parking ticket. and I scooped up the crinkled yellowed lined paper off the ground.
The sweet part of it all was I was praying for my daughter at the time, asking God to watch over her; asking Him to hold on to her as she travels to California for the summer.
A man in a bright orange vest with head phones in each ear wondered if I needed help. I guess I seemed puzzled. And I was, because the yellow crinkled scrap paper was an answer to my prayers…
An answer to the healing prayers for my son Ben who was injured in a tragic accident when a porch railing gave way and he fell 20+ feet onto cement. An answer to my concerns for the protection of my daughter Dory. An answer for my son Will and daughter Hart. And the list goes on and on. The reality is, there is no prayer request too big for God. There is nothing this world can put upon us that He cannot solve.
“Can I help you?” he asked removing one ear plug from his ear and allowing it to swing in front of his chest.
“I found this paper.”
He took it from my hand and smiled. “That’s always good to know, isn’t it?”
I nodded. He put the words back in my hand. “Have a nice day, maam.”
As much as I wanted to keep the note, I decided to turn it loose. It could be the very words someone else needed to hear today as well. I watched as a slight wind picked up the message, and it slid across the parking lot.
Powerful words from a powerful God.
