A Sunday night traffic stop in White County led to the arrest of a Watkinsville man on drug and traffic offenses.
The White County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy stopped the driver of an SUV around 10:30 p.m. Sunday for failing to maintain his lane on Highway 356 near Timber Loft Cottages. The driver was identified as Anderson Dowdy of Watkinsville.
According to the sheriff’s office, Dowdy admitted that he had methamphetamine inside the vehicle. A deputy searched the vehicle and reportedly found 42 grams of methamphetamine, 60 grams of marijuana, 3.5 grams of cocaine along with a large sum of cash.
Dowdy was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and failure to maintain lane.
